Privacy Policy
Toji no Niwa (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) establishes the following Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as “this Policy”) regarding the handling of users’ personal information in the services provided on this website (hereinafter referred to as “the Service”).
Article 1 (Personal Information)
“Personal information” refers to “personal information” as defined under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, meaning information about a living individual that can identify a specific person through descriptions such as name, date of birth, address, phone number, contact details, or other information contained therein, as well as data relating to facial appearance, fingerprints, or voiceprints, and information that alone can identify a specific individual such as a health insurance policyholder number (individually identifying information).
Article 2 (Methods of Collecting Personal Information)
When users register for the Service, the Company may request personal information such as name, date of birth, address, phone number, email address, bank account number, credit card number, and driver’s license number. The Company may also collect information containing users’ personal information — including transaction records and payment information — from business partners (including information providers, advertisers, and ad delivery destinations; hereinafter referred to as “Partners”).
Article 3 (Purposes for Collecting and Using Personal Information)
The Company collects and uses personal information for the following purposes:
To provide and operate the Company’s services
To respond to inquiries from users (including identity verification)
To send emails about new features, updates, campaigns, and other services offered by the Company
To send necessary notifications such as maintenance alerts and important notices
To identify users who violate the Terms of Service or attempt to use the Service for fraudulent or improper purposes, and to refuse their use of the Service
To allow users to view, update, or delete their registered information and review their usage history
To bill users for fees related to paid services
For purposes incidental to the above
Article 4 (Changes to the Purpose of Use)
The Company may change the purpose for which personal information is used only when it is reasonably recognized that the new purpose is related to the original purpose. In the event of such a change, the Company will notify users or announce the updated purpose on this website through methods prescribed by the Company.
Article 5 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)
The Company will not provide personal information to third parties without the user’s prior consent, except in the following cases (and except as otherwise permitted by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other applicable laws):
When necessary to protect a person’s life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the individual’s consent
When particularly necessary to improve public health or promote the sound development of children, and it is difficult to obtain the individual’s consent
When it is necessary to cooperate with a national or local government agency or its delegate in carrying out duties prescribed by law, and obtaining the individual’s consent may impede such duties
When the following matters have been disclosed or announced in advance, and the Company has notified the Personal Information Protection Commission:
That provision to third parties is included in the purpose of use
The categories of data to be provided to third parties
The means or method of provision to third parties
That provision to third parties will be stopped upon the individual’s request
The method for receiving such requests
Notwithstanding the above, the following cases shall not constitute provision to a third party:
When the Company entrusts all or part of the handling of personal information to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose of use
When personal information is provided in connection with a business succession due to merger or other reasons
When personal information is jointly used with a specific party, provided that the user has been notified in advance — or the information has been made readily accessible to the user — regarding the fact of joint use, the categories of personal information involved, the scope of parties using it, the purposes of use, and the name of the party responsible for managing the personal information
Article 6 (Disclosure of Personal Information)
When a user requests disclosure of their personal information, the Company will disclose it without delay. However, if disclosure falls under any of the following, all or part of the information may be withheld, and the user will be notified of that decision without delay. Please note that a fee of ¥1,000 per case will be charged for disclosure of personal information.
If disclosure could harm the life, body, property, or other rights and interests of the user or a third party
If disclosure could significantly impede the proper conduct of the Company's operations
If disclosure would otherwise violate applicable laws
Notwithstanding the above, information other than personal information — such as browsing history and behavioral characteristics — will in principle not be disclosed.
Article 7 (Correction and Deletion of Personal Information)
If a user believes that personal information held by the Company is incorrect, the user may request correction, addition, or deletion (hereinafter referred to as "Correction, etc.") through procedures established by the Company. If the Company determines that a Correction, etc. request is warranted, it will carry out the Correction, etc. without delay and notify the user of the action taken or the decision not to act.
Article 8 (Suspension of Use of Personal Information)
If a user requests suspension or deletion of personal information (hereinafter referred to as "Suspension, etc.") on the grounds that it is being used beyond the stated purpose or was obtained through improper means, the Company will conduct the necessary investigation without delay. If the Company determines the request is warranted, it will carry out the Suspension, etc. without delay and notify the user accordingly. If Suspension, etc. would involve significant cost or is otherwise difficult to implement, the Company will take appropriate alternative measures to protect the user's rights and interests.
Article 9 (Changes to the Privacy Policy)
The contents of this Policy may be changed without notice to users, except as otherwise provided by law or this Policy. Unless otherwise specified by the Company, changes to the Privacy Policy take effect upon publication on this website.
