Hot springs dwell in the river,
a place for hot spring therapy

Since the Edo period,
a culture of healing intertwined with daily life has quietly thrived at Kawayu Onsen.

Surrender to the warmth,
as nature’s presence gently unwinds your heart.

TOJI no niwa Kumano-Kawayu
Preserves the hot spring therapy culture of Kawayu,
Quietly weaving it anew.

Healing with OnsenTOJI no niwa Kumano-Kawayu
hot spring therapy

TOJI is a Japanese cultural practice
that harnesses the power of hot springs
to restore mind and body to their natural state.

At TOJI no Niwa Kumano-gawa-yu,
we utilize the source waters of Kawayu Onsen
and cherish the simple cycle of
“soaking, drinking, resting.”

This is a quiet TOJI retreat experience
for pilgrims walking the Kumano Kodo
and those seeking distance from daily life.

TOJI no niwa Kumano-Kawayu,
located near the pilgrimage route of the World Heritage Kumano Kodo,
is situated in Kawayu Onsen.

In this place where people have long gathered seeking healing,
we propose a new form of hot spring therapy.
